The Impact of Loss Through Childhood and Adolescence – Training Workshop
Our Adoption Ambassadors would like to invite you to attend The Impact of Loss Through Childhood and Adolescence training workshop.
Scottish Adoption is a sector leading charity who provide services and support to children and their families. Our expertise is built upon decades of practice, research and knowledge.
We pride ourselves on the learning we gain from working with young people within our established group work programmes. The voice, experiences and opinions of adopted young people sits at the heart of our organisation.
As part of Adoption Week Scotland 2019, our teens are taking over the running of Scottish Adoption for the full week. The Teen Take Over will include a series of workshops and events, designed and facilitated by the Scottish Adoption Teen Ambassadors.
As part of this event, the Ambassadors would like to invite Children and Family Social Workers and LAAC Reviewing Officers to attend The Impact of Loss Through Childhood and Adolescence.
The training will explore:
• How loss is felt and experienced by children when they move and the implications of this at each developmental stage of childhood and adolescence, told through real life experiences.
• What helps support a child with transitions and moves .
• The role of professionals in curating material so that children have a meaningful and coherent life-story and what’s important to keep and record.
The workshop will take place at the Scottish Adoption Office on Tuesday the 19th of November from 9.30am until 12pm . This is a free workshop and you can book you space here http://bit.ly/ImpactOfLossWorkshop.
