Building Relationships That Protect and Heal – 11th October 10:00
This event is with Karen Young, Neurodevelopment Educator, Hey Sigmund. SCCR are thrilled to have Karen join them again all the way from Australia after she spoke at their 2020 online international conference. This session will explore how attachment relationships are both healing and protective for children and teens. As part of this workshop they will explore the power of attachment relationships and ways to build relationships that protect and heal. The event will be followed by a Q&A.

Reconnecting Mediation and Emotional Intelligence – 12th October 11:00
This event is with Ruth Unsworth, Head of Mediation and Wellbeing at the University of St Andrews and guest host Dr Vanessa Collingridge. This session will review some of the costs, causes and responses to conflict. It will consider how new developments in emotional intelligence can help anyone in conflict. Ruth will share her experience of developing the University of St Andrews Mediation Service and will include a Q&A with attendees.

This event is with award-winning poet Alan Spence, Edinburgh Makar. Alan will be joined in conversation with guest host Colin Waters, SCCR Digital Media and Content Manager and will include a Q&A with attendees. This event will discuss creativity, meditation and peace as well as Alan sharing tales from his past and reading excerpts of his work and others that speak to the theme of ‘The Power of Reconnection’. Shining a Light on the Invisible: Adversity, Relationships and Psychologically Informed Approaches – 15th October 11:00
This event is with Consultant Clinical Psychologist, Dr Adam Burley and will explore the importance of human connection when we have had so much enforced disconnection. He also look at how for some of the most excluded in society experiencing relational disconnection did not begin with Covid-19, but has often been a lifelong experience. The session will include a Q& A with the audience following his address.

A Different Normal – ‘Reconnection’ – SCCR Workshop – 19th October 10:00
This interactive workshop is with Duncan Gordon, Trainer and Andrew Boyd, Mediation and Conflict Resolution Advisor from Cyrenians Scottish Centre for Conflict Resolution. This workshop will explore how it feels to reconnect when we return to a different ‘normal’. How will we manage this reconnection and the opportunities and challenges that come with it? The workshop will include activities, a chance for discussion and it finishes with a Q&A from facilitators.

Bringing Light to Find Each Other in the Darkness – Cyrenians Mediation & Support and Focus Ireland Workshop – 28th October 10:00
This interactive workshop is run jointly by Cyrenians Mediation and Support Service and Focus Ireland. As Desmond Tutu said, “Hope is being able to see there is light despite all of the darkness”. This workshop will facilitate a discussion with experienced mediators and ask a number of questions, about how we can shed light on seemingly dark situations. What do we mean when we say we should use listening, understanding and hope when attempting to help families to reconnect with each other in what can feel like very complex sometimes hopeless situations?

An Emotive Ensemble – Closing Concert – 28th October 19:00
First heard at their ‘Symphony of Stories’ event in June, join in for a pre-recorded closing concert where you will be joined by talented Scottish musicians. Music will guide attendees through an oral experience of music to take them through an emotional journey of reflection.
