Scottish Adoption and Fostering Celebrates 100 Year Milestone
Celebrating the past, the present and the future.

Last night, Scottish Adoption and Fostering celebrated a century of adoption services delivered from our offices in Leith. The momentous occasion was marked by a Parliamentary Reception hosted by Rona Mackay, MSP, with Natalie Don MSP, Minister for Children, Young People & Keeping the Promise joining the event to show her support.
Rona Mackay, MSP, says: “I was delighted to host this incredibly special event to mark the 100th anniversary of Scottish Adoption and Fostering. Over the last century so many children have found a loving, stable home thanks to the good work of this organisation. You could literally feel the love in the room last night as we celebrated this very special anniversary – my thanks go to all who have made this happen.”
The reception provided a platform for attendees to share their stories and experiences, showcasing the profound impact Scottish Adoption and Fostering has had on countless families throughout the years. The Agency which was recognized as sector leading in a recent care inspection is extremely proud to work with everyone touched by adoption and to offer a range of supports to children, young people, adoptive parents, birth parents and adult adoptees. The agency is excited to be formally launching their mainstream fostering service in the new year.
Sue Brunton, CEO of Scottish Adoption and Fostering, expressed her pride and gratitude: “Last night’s reception offered us the opportunity to reflect on the work we have carried out and celebrate the many families that have used our services over the years. I would like to take the opportunity to thank Rona Mackay, MSP, for hosting us at the Scottish Parliament and to Natalie Don MSP, Minister for Children, Young People & Keeping the Promise for attending our event.”
